Carrying Wroxton Forward: Honoring What It Has Been, Building What It Will Be

Some places stay with you. Wroxton is one of them.

Long after you leave, it remains, not only as a memory but as a feeling. The first sight of the Abbey. The quiet of the grounds. Pushing open that oversized door and sensing that your world was about to open with it.

For generations, Wroxton has been far more than a study abroad program. It is where students learn not only from books and lectures but from place, history, culture, and one another. Where a professor calls on you by name because they expect you to think harder and speak more clearly. Where a seminar, a trip, or a long dinner conversation becomes something you carry for the rest of your life. That is Wroxton, and it is exactly what we are carrying forward.

In 2026, Wroxton completed its independence, with its faculty and staff now part of the College itself. It stands on its own for the first time in decades, and it does so from a position of strength. This is not a moment of holding on. It is the beginning of Wroxton's strongest chapter.

That chapter is being built now. Wroxton is forming a partnership with leading universities and prominent figures in higher education, to become a year-round home for immersive humanities, serious dialogue, and the increasingly rare skill of reasoning together across deep difference. It is a future designed to carry Wroxton forward for generations, elevated and sustainable, and worthy of what the place has always been. There is more we will be able to share in the months ahead.

This is a founding chapter, and the whole community has a part in writing it. The partnership brings the future. What the Wroxton community brings is its character and its reach: the care of the Abbey and its grounds, the seminars and experiences that become signatures of the place, and the pathways that let new students discover what so many of us never forgot. Every gift, at any level, helps Wroxton begin this next chapter from the strongest possible position.

A gift to Wroxton is not a donation to a place we once loved. It is an investment in what it is becoming, in access, in possibility, and in the students who have not yet walked through that door.

Many of us were given Wroxton by people who believed in it before we ever arrived. Now it is our turn, not to hold on to what Wroxton was, but to help launch what it will be. One day, a student who has never heard of Wroxton will walk through those doors and understand exactly why so many of us never really left. Because of us, they will have that chance for generations to come.

Wroxton changed me. And because of us, it still will.
